About the support package

Self-injury occurs in around 1 in 5 people with learning disabilities and autism; it can be extremely distressing for both the individual and those supporting them.

By the time an organisation reaches out to us for help with someone who is self-injuring, they have usually worked extremely hard and exhausted the resources of their behaviour package and staff expertise.

Whatever the background of the individual you have in mind, it is likely that they have been self-injuring for some considerable time. It has taken time for them to reach this point, and it will take some time for things to turn around. Therefore, the help we offer is through a process. We want to be confident that the young person is making progress over time, so we prefer to journey with you for a few months, rather than coming in once or twice and then disappearing.

Research indicates that training alone can not provide the team with the means of offering effective support. We strongly recommend that organisations adopt the whole package.
(Full details will be agreed with the organisation)
Our goal is to stay on the journey until meaningful change occurs
